Ian Fein  I am a filmmaker originally from Northport, Maine, currently located in Boston, MA. Growing up on the coast of Maine sailing, swimming and scuba diving, I acquired a natural curiosity of the world around me. FeinProductions allows me to continue to explore the world through video and audio production. I love telling a story using multimedia in a unique way to engage, inform and entertain the audience. www.feinproductions.com

I have trained Capoeira under Contra-Mestre Graveto and Mestre Ombrinho for the past 7 years, and like many people, have fallen in love with this complex art form.  Creating a long form documentary is the only way I see of both discovering and sharing the full story of Capoeira with the rest of the world.

Liz Warburton  I currently live in Santa Cruz and San Francisco, CA.  I have forged a career in helping projects deliver their story by focusing on the logistics of production.  Drawing directly from my upbringing in the business world and my training as a sociologist, I bring a combination of big picture thinking and execution-orientated management.  I believe in work and practices that help people communicate their purpose, capoeira being a particularly diverse and complex movement art which has influenced people worldwide. www.wciprojects.com

I started training with Capoeira Angola Quintal under Contra-Mestre Graveto and Mestre Ombrinho in 2007.  I have also learned a tremendous amount from conversations and visits with numerous teachers in Capoeira Angola Palmares, Capoeira Mandinga and Capoeira Raca Em Movimento from 2003 to the present day.

Anne Haggerson  I am a teacher, artist, and educational theorist and I currently live in New York City.  I focus on art as a tool to create change in ourselves and our world, re-imagining education for future generations.   I integrate a variety of disciplines into my research and praxis such as cultural anthropology, education, dance theory, and arts-based methodologies.  I draw upon the movement lexicon from capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian  art form that involves ritual dance, play fighting, and traditional music.  www.annehaggerson.com

I started studying capoeira as part of my undergraduate honor’s thesis in 2000, when I focused on capoeira as a powerful pedagogical tool to engage youth in their communities.
